Galaxie 500 - “King of Spain”
I’m not really sure the method behind the madness, but ever since I got back from a trip to the west coast about two weeks ago, I’ve been listening to Galaxie 500 nonstop. “Strange” is an easy track to fall in love with, but as I’ve jumped into the albums, Today just stands out to me. From “Parking Lot” to “Oblivious” to “Instrumental,” it all works for me. Plus, I just love Dean Wareheim’s vocals on “King of Spain.” And being infatuated with this band right now makes me regret not picking up Today every single time I saw it when I went record shopping this summer…which was every single I went record shopping this summer which was a lot. Next time, I guess.
